Sorry for the lack of updates but let me fill you in with everything that’s been happening over the past couple of months at camp FTS. We’re now looking for more people to work with, especially with festival season still in full throttle and many great artists emerging on the scene.

Myself and Matt were filming the amazing performance of Hannah Williams and the Tastemakers down at the Larmer Tree festival a few months back  and a few of us have just finished filming at the Isle of Wight Ventnor Fringe Festival, which is now edited and waiting for review. On Saturday a couple of us went back down to Winchester to film a short on behalf of Tape Club Records about the very talented James ‘Hairy Hands’ Bright  with all his mental space-age analogue instruments and Japanese made percussion (ex knitting machine) device. Definitely one to look out for.

Really looking forward to showing you some new stuff and hopefully we’ll have the chance to jump on board with some new projects in the near future. Remember, if anyone wants anything done for them, please, please, please get in contact. BOOM.

We’ve got a couple of jobs in the pipeline but shooting dates are pretty far away so we’re all finding stuff to do to keep us occupied in the mean time.

Speaking of our Ejector Seat video actually… the shoot went incredibly well and the weather stayed nice and sunny all day. We used for Canon EOS 550D’s with multiple lenses and split into two teams and just wondered around for the day filming stuff from 11am till 11pm. We also filmed the headline set by the wonderful Peter and Kerry.
Editing took about a week or so to do with colouring the footage being the biggy, but we really feel it paid off as you can see by looking at the gorgeous footage.

Long time no see.

Just thought I’d put down a little blog post so you all can know where we’re at and what films will be coming out down the line.
We’ve all been busy with Uni work hence why recent output has been at a minimum but we’re back now and we’ve got one big project done and another in progress.
The first of these is our promotional video we made for our friends at Givey, a new mobile charitable platform created by Dave Erasmus of Cubate ltd. We wanted to create them something that they could show people to Givey actually is and how it can benefit the world. The video we’ve created can be seen here. You can donate to charity through Twitter, SMS and soon Facebook! How cool is that?! They’re launching today as part of the Governments new Giving White Paper scheme so go sign up for an account at www.givey.co.uk and being your giving journey!

We’re really happy with how it’s turned out and am looking forward to working with them in the future.

We’re also only a few days away from Ejector Seat Festival and we’re all really looking forward to it more than you could know. It’s a free music/arts/film festival set right in the middle of Southampton during the Summer time, what more could you ask for? These films are going to be great.

In other news all the dramas that have been made by 3 of the 4 members of Fix The Sky Productions have finally been unleashed into the world.

Chris Marley is directing a short film called IT SLEEPS IN BETWEEN US which is scheduled for shooting late March to Early April. This film will be entered into film festivals this year and be the first Fix The Sky short film production to do so. In order to make this work though and get the most out of this gripping narrative, we need your help!

A funding campaign has been set up to raise a target of $1500 by May 4th. This money will go towards travel/food expenses for crew and actors, festival entry fees and the big one if we raise enough…rental prices of the Canon 5D MK2 or 7D. Now I know it seems like a lot of money but just to put it into perspective, we have raised $100 already only within a few hours! If 140 people donate a further $10 each (Just over £6),we will have reached our target.

All your help won’t go unrecognised though. Each donation amount comes with it’s own unique perk including copies of the ‘IT SLEEPS IN BETWEEN US’ on DVD, ‘Making of’ documentary and for the largest donation, Fix The Sky will make you a promotional/cooperate video or provide photography for an event your running in the UK. SO PLEASE EVERYONE, DONATE HERE.

The video was shot in December of last year on a pair of Canon EOS 550D’s, as well as a JVC HD101 HDV camera. Editing was done in Final Cut Pro and finished in Magic Bullet and Adobe After Effects CS5. As our first music video, we are extremely happy with the outcome, and are aiming to produce work of a similar or better standard in the future. Watch this space for more videos in the near future!
